Crabber:

Mike Higgins

Crabber Biography:

Captain Mike Higgins grew up in Burlington County, NJ about an hour from Long Beach Island and was hand lining and fishing with his father as soon as he was old enough to stand on a boat. He was introduced to trotlining in 2009 on Maryland’s Wye River. Mike enjoys crabbing “not-so-crowded” rivers of the Maryland’s Eastern Shore, as well as Dividing Creek and Patcong Creek along with his father and children, Matt and Mikayla.

Mike had a successful Assault on Patcong Creek debut with crew member Ed Zielinski in 2013, when the duo aboard the Crew’s Station brought in the most crabs in the tournament. Though he failed to repeat that achievement in 2014 or 2015, he has his eyes set on the bigger prize of seeing his name engraved on the Assault on Patcong Creek Largest Crab trophy.
