Kim Halpin

Crabber Biography:

Known for her fearless tenacity and no-nonsense demeanor on the water, Kim “Cubbie Cat” Halpin is one of the most sought after crabbing deckhands in South Jersey. After making her Assault on Patcong Creek debut aboard Kevin Kennedy’s homemade wooden vessel in 2011, Kim seems to have found a home as the #1 deckhand on Pheelin’ Crabby. 2018 marked her seventh year paired up with Captain Nick Furtak.

Kim is the only women to crab in eight of the first nine Assault on Patcong Creek tournaments.

: Congratulations to Allison Hillman of Mullica Hill, NJ and Mason Weiss of Sewell, NJ on be selected as our scholarship recipients for the NJ Fish & Wildlife’s Sedge Island Field Experience in August. Allison is a three-year participant of the tournament and a junior champion decoy carver. Mason is a four-year tournament volunteer who is active in scouting. He hopes to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. We will honor them both and present them with checks at this year’s tournament.
